Now for something a little different. 1UT16L, otherwise known as the dirt train, heads out of Helper just after the last light of a waning summer's evening in late August.

Amtrak 5 had to wait for us at Wellington, but not for long.

Working our way though Mounds Yard to head up to the Sunnyside Branch.

The following afternoon, the dirt train comes back down the Sunnyside Branch approaching Mounds.

Opening up at Mounds and back on the main heading towards Helper.

Now arriving into Helper to tie down for the afternoon.

I couldn't find particular operational information the dirt train, so if anybody knew how they operated up the Sunnyside Branch that would be much appreciated
