Is it really, that doesn't sound too encouraging then really, as it's already 11 years old, and counting.
Someone on the American forum suggested Aerofly FS 2 was worth looking at, it's early access on Steam, but, a little bit expensive to obtain everything all at once, however, it's developed by some Germans and looks extremely promising, they have also released a lot of free content to encourage folks to get interested in their offering, so, another Simulator worth keeping an eye on, if, FSW goes loop the loop downwards......
