Ty. It's a combination of LA, Houston, Calgary, Denver make up. You should see the urban industrial-commercial-residential sprawl hehe.

I can't pinpoint it, but there is something about rural railroading that just tugs at me.

I'll bet it's the traffic. Why do you think I go to the geographic center of nowhere to see trains?

    Hi Neil,

I'm running out of superlatives for you - just great...

Concur - we used to hang out near the tracks in a rural area when I was a kid - you got a wave back then - not the police chasing you - simpler times...

    Regards,
    Scott

    Neil,

It's probably the contrast of the pristine unspoiled rural areas with the concrete jungle of the urban areas along with a lot of the industrial and run-down looking scenery in many of the cities where tracks usually run. Not to mention, the speeds in the rural areas compared to the slow crawl in many urban areas.

Great shots, as I tend to like the rural areas as well.

Steve, those are certainly some of the winning ingredients, no doubt!

First track. 15 miles west of St.Joe on the CRI&P.
That's Troy KS in the background. If you could see it.

    Gonna give it a shot.

One of our forum members, Claus, originally released them, but had to remove them from the files library.
