Especially impressed with the level of detail on that dirt road. Looks amazing!

    Thanks guys, really.
Rory's Blackfoot route is really a well crafted route. Admittedly, I have thrown my own mods into it, but the nitty-gritty is all his Route Building talent.

It is because of people like you Rory & Neil, Vince & all the other route building craftsman & route modders on here & like on ET plus others forums around the world. It makes us step up the bar more & more. All of you make us work at it (While having fun) & put our heart is in it.

I can't wait for the day I can package it all up & upload it on here for everyone to enjoy along with me. Share a bit of how this route looked back in the late 1960's to the pre-Conrail dawn when I was a kid. Lucky that my family had relatives & friends in over 50% of where the route takes place. So the memories of that time come back to me in a flash & I can translate them to the route easily.

On a hot, muggy June 1966 late Saturday morning. Passengers await by the Union Beach station for a lone RDC coming from Atlantic Highlands to take them to points north & finally the Jersey City Terminal.

While on Spruce Street in Union Beach the local ice company is doing a bag-up business this hot day for block & cube ice for weekend BBQ's & fishing/crabbing trips.

Meanwhile on Jersey Avenue, the local "Sewing Circle" is starting cocktail hour a bit early sitting in the shade of a tree. They await the RDC to pass across the street at a blistering 25MPH because of deferred maintenance. In a few days, commuter service will cease on the Seashore Branch (July 1, 1966) leaving only local freight runs per week to IFF and the few local businesses left.

    Enjoy......
