Fonda Johnstown and Gloversville did get an RS-2 and 3 under Delaware Otsego control but the RS-2 100 never received the FJ&G orange paint scheme... until this weekend!

Alternate universe - "California Eagle", cooperative passenger train of Full Bucket Line, Texas and Pacific, Missouri Pacific railroads.
Route: St. Louis MO, Little Rock AR, Marshall TX, Dallas TX, Monahans TX, Jal NM (start of FBL), Carlsbad NM, Alamogordo NM, Hillsboro NM, Silver City NM, Glenwood NM, Fort Fairfax AZ, Frampton AZ, Phoenix AZ, Yuma AZ, El Centro CA, Boulevard CA, El Cajon CA, Temecula CA, Los Angeles CA.

Very crazy idea in my alternate universe - Full Bucket Auto Carrier. After creation of Auto-Train Corporation, Full Bucket Line and Missouri Pacific creates first North American transcontinental passenger train with possibility of automobiles transportation - Full Bucket Auto Carrier. Passengers could send our automobiles from St. Louis, Little Rock, Dallas and New Orleans (extra train from New Orleans to Marshall TX) to Los Angeles, afterwards PRR begins our auto carrier from Philadelphia to St. Louis with transfer of autotracks to Full Bucket Auto Carrier.

Now Full Bucket Auto Carrier usually operates by two AC4400CW or C44-9W, after few cars with baggage and express cargo locates transition Superliner car, 5 coaches, 10 sleepers, lounge, dining car and 25 autotracks (specifically on this train):











Question to FBL fans - where do you think can locates line between Frampton and Fort Fairfax? With which real railroads FBL can cooperate?

I would think any Western company. I use it for SP UP and SF

The actual coordinates in the route places it in Nevada, with the Fort Fairfax line parallel with US50. But it can be anywhere west, just use your imagination!

What everyone else is saying pretty much. What's so nice about it is that it's so generic just about anything west of the Mississippi and south of Yellowstone would fit. I always followed The Full Bucketniers' take on the FBL, with SP (and FBL just because) running from Fort Fairfax to Lake Hurst. Now I'm not sure if it's FBL/UP or just FBL. I do have BNSF claiming trackage rights on the FBL from Frampton to Mount Oliver (or is it FBL running on the BNSF? I don't know anymore.)

I decided to make FBL map and took as a basis ATSF map with approximate location of lines:


FBL double track mainline: Alamosa - Gallup - Mount Oliver - Frampton -Phoenix - Brawley - Los Angeles, southern singletrack mainline: Lake Hurst - Fort Fairfax - Socorro - Carrizozo - Carlsbad - Odessa.

Earlier in the USA existed Missouri Pacific Railroad, Texas and Paci and St. Louis and San Franciso Railroad - in their names established idea of transcontinental railroad construction, but these railroads never completed our lines to Pacific ocean. In my "Alternate Universe" FBL could build our tracks to Pacific ocean and made a serious competition for ATSF and SP. Likely FBL initially was project of "Gould Empire" for connect the MP and DRGW with Los Angeles and San Diego. Henceforth Missouri Pacific cooperating with FBL could have our transcontinental passenger trains from St. Louis to Los Angeles - "California Eagle" via Little Rock, Dallas, Odessa, Carlsbad and Fort Fairfax and "Los Angeles Eagle" via Kansas City, Pueblo, Alamosa and Mount Oliver. FBL also operate our transcontinental trains alternately with MP trains, perhaps FRISCO also creates our transcontinental passenger train going on FBL tracks.

FBL captured my imagination, once I even made train schedule diagram for this MSTS route, although something I’d change now:


Another one train - postal-baggage train from St. Louis to Los Angeles via Pueblo and Mount Oliver for delivery of mail and express cargo.
