Switching things up a little bit. I got back from my Pacific Surfliner trip ( https://www.trainsim.com/vbts/showth...rfliner-Thread ) just in time to hear that the NWP Sprinter Train from American Canyon to Petaluma was getting ready to go, and instead of having the CFNR/NWP switch up at Schellville, it was a straight through train with raw, rumbling, unique NWP power!

After my chase there, I heard the S.M.A.R.T. 2014 calling signals headed back to Sausalito, so I went and found it for a short stint.

Image 1) Leaving American Canyon, the NWP Sprinter Train has a clear block towards Lombard and Schellville.
Image 2) Rolling through Schellville on Main #2, this train has 2.7 some odd miles until the west end of Schellville where 3 mainlines and several yard tracks converge into ONE mainline!
Image 3) Rolling through Sears Point, I managed to get the "high view" for this shot on the pedestrian bridge connecting the two platforms here.
Image 4) S.M.A.R.T. 2016/2014 roll through CP Black Point as they head West towards Ignacio and a left hook to Sausalito and the yard.
Image 5) S.M.A.R.T. 2016/2014 roll across Civic Center Parkway in San Rafael, CA., bypassing the platform here completely.
Image 6) Passing my uncles place, the train starts to slow for the speed restriction in Downtown San Rafael, on the other side of Lincoln Tunnel.
Image 7) Cruising alongside Anderson Yard, this crew is going to start to see color as it gets closer to Sausalito, CA.

    Regards,

    -Frank C.

It's early 1990-something and our annual spring trip to Barstow and the Inland Empire was upon us...Something about these units at speed just made one giddy for the horses they had!

Lenwood followed by Hodge and Oro Grande were the highlights this day.

Fast foward 20 something years and the fast freight 40's and DD40AX's are still pulling their duty for the U.P.! Seen here, the 6924 is on a train out of the Alameda Corridor, bound for points East via Cajon Pass. Maybe everyone's favorite U.P. doublestacker from the forums (A.T. Wells) is on board today!
