Default Converting the NECV4 to ScaleRail?

    Hi,

This is probably a very daunting task but I'd like to know if converting Vince's excellent NECv4 route to ScaleRail is possible. I have the PRR-ER and ScaleRail looks fantastic.

If someone has already done this, then could they please PM me the necessary files to change?

Daunting is an understatement, No one has ever done it and I wouldn't even attempt it or think of doing it. If it's just for visual effects there are plenty of other track textures that can be used..

Yes, it's for visual effects. What do you recommend?

There are some good ones available here in the F/L. I use one from a three-pack here that does a good job making the rail look better on my route

    All,
Before attempting to do ANY rail changing on the '4' be sure you use either the Archibald or Horace utilities to re-index the routes local tsection.dat file.
Any attempt to modify track without a re-index WILL destroy the routes database files.

If you don't understand the why of re-indexing then don't do it. Nuff said.

This amount of work just might force you to go on notepad, where you're repeating the same "All work and no play........" you know the rest
P.S look for the break glass in case of route builder insanity bat on the wall.

It's been converted by Otto to DB tracks which is very good, possibly better than scale rail?
I believe Otto would want it shared, but I imagine his server is no longer in service? I do have it.

I forgot about that! I also have it and OttO and I agreed we wanted it shared.

I think the DBTracks version will be better. Could someone send it along please?

Should one of us upload it to the file library here?
