On the The Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor there is a Tablet. On it is written:
"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
the wretched refuse of your teeming shore, send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Converting to Scalerail isn't always a 1:1 swap, so in this case, I'd agree with Vince that the DBTracks version might be a safer path.

I went to make a copy of my DB tracks modified NEC with just the new files. But when I tested it I found missing track and textures. So I went back and looked at my original DB tracks NEC from Otto and it too is missing tracks. I remember the issue and never resolved it.

Does anyone have a copy without the issue they'd like to load to the file library? Or remember how to fix the issue?

    Hi Chris!

DB-Tracks with its various shapes and textures are far superior to ScaleRails, from a technical point of view ... better 3D model and much more variety, incl. new overhead wires etc. Maybe not prototypical for American railroads ... there is a small set of US tracks in it but sadly the creator passed away before he was able to complete his work.

Anyway, the problem with the missing tracks can be solved by running a certain tool over the whole route ... I forgot its name. I will connect my 2TB-HDD with the MSTS archive later and look it up. I once converted a couple of routes to DB-Tracks, before getting too busy with my job, but I wrote down somewhere how it is done. I will find that note and post it here.

Update: You need to convert the route with DynaTrax, v0.62 or later, after exchanging the standard tracks for DB-Tracks. This will generate all the missing dynamic tracks.

G'day, I have been following this with interest. I checked in the file library but could only find "DynaTrax V0.52b", where would we find the latest?

I got it on my HDD and will upload it soon, if no online source is available anymore.

Edit - It is all on this website, the official DB-Tracks website: http://dbtracks.com

Go to Dynatrax Manual and follow the instructions.

Note that there is even the first US-Tracks versions there ... it was a work in progress, so not completed, but still interesting for US routes.

I did it, long ago. I did a ScaleRail conversion for just about every single completed route out there 10+ years ago. SLI, Maple Leaf, 3DTrainStuff, freeware, you name it. Some enhancements were released, but, for the most part, some were never mentioned (shown) at all. The NECv4 was one of those, can't remember why.

I can take a stab at converting the NEC4 over to ScaleRail, including the dynamic track portions, once I get myself set back up with MSTS and OR. I'm sure we still have the ScaleRail profiles laying around somewhere. I don't think anyone ever expressed an interest in a conversion long ago, so I never even attempted to release it. It sure was nice running on it though. Of course, only if there is an interest in it since there are other 'far superior' alternatives out there....

Resurrecting an old thread, I know, I know.

But just wanted to ask if anyone has a copy of the DB Tracks version of the NECv4 still hanging around on a hard drive somewhere? I've scoured the internet and have not been able to find one, even using the way back machine.

    Thanks for your consideration.

    Ken.
