I certainly greatly appreciate all the blood, sweat, toil, and tears the ORTS team has put into them... While it's nice they are greatly simplified - we've actually seemed to have lost access to many of the parameters we had in MSTS... There are very few parameters ORTS actually uses and you can prune like 75% of an MSTS ENG file out... Copperpen has been helping me a great deal as well... It would be a pretty easy job to set the power correctly on Allen's model - that part seems to work quite well...

I'm focused on getting three things as close to reality as possible - tractive performance, steam consumption, and coal/water usage. With MSTS, I though we had gotten pretty close. I've not paid enough attention to know if the new OR parameters have gotten us to the same or better place.

Thanks for the info - honestly though - we'll never have all the routes to run proper rolling stock - on their proper tracks - in their proper era... If it's a B&O route - and a B&O locomotive - that's probably good enough for me...

Beer is not a matter of life or death, it is much more serious than that.

Keyser yard and town construction continues. It fills almost two full tiles

Finishing up track. Had to avoid the tile boundary (red line). Need to construct engine house, car repair and car building as well as repurpose other buildings for yard offices and such

Have to build the Keyser Roundhouse - a major do over as I didn't calculate the angles for the bays correctly. Track is now to Dawson, MD the intersection with Western Maryland and about 3 tiles worth of parallel running.

Default v0.7 alpha almost ready to go

    OK, here's where I'm at:

    - Track 100% finished and tested

    - Scenery - 99% finished

    - Scenery Objects - 99% finished

    - Alpha version distribution ready w/o interactives - 0% finished

I would like to get testing of an v0.7 alpha version. Caveat is that there will not be an installer - just zip file that you must download and copy. Please PM with interest

Still working on buildings for Keyser. And still working on West Virginia Pulp and Paper plant area. And finally, I'm looking for finished wheel sets and trucks that can be used as scenery items - does anyone have something?? Keyser was major car repair site.

Thanks to all in advance to your help and guidance.

    Looks pretty good...

You know, I just finished modeling a CPL sgnal yesterday...well, a tall one. The dwarf version should be much simpler. If you want to take a look, let me know

Great minds think alike. Just competed my TSM master signal, plus signal bridges and masts for this project.

I've been in contact with Hank Sundermeyer on incorporating his full B&O signal set. He redid all the original Sand Patch signals. I just don't know much of anything at all about signals.
