    Gigabyte GA-Z270X Gaming 5

    i5-7600k 3.80ghz - 4.20 Turbo

    16GB Corsair Vengeance Ram

    Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1060 3G

    Samsung 960 EVO SSD 500GB

    2X Intel 520 Series SSD 250GB

All Graphics Setting in RUN8 maxed out but frame rate set to 60FPS

Barstow and West Colton yards fully filled will occasionally drop frames to 50FPS, usually around Sunset but other wise silky Smooth.

I was a bit nervous about trying Samsung Evo SDD but the computer shop that built my computer assured me they were the best and they were right, would never go back to old Style SDD now and as you can see in my specs I only use them for storage now.

    AMD FX-8320 @ 3.5 GHz
    Radeon RX 480 8 GB
    8 GB RAM
230 GB Chronos SSD (Windows boots from this)
1 TB Western Digital HDD (Run8 is on this)

On the Mojave and Needles Subs, FPS are usually pretty steady around 55-60 or so. There are some areas, however, where I have seen them drop into the 20 or 30 range... worst I have seen was 21 in the "Busy Barstow" session in the yard. Tile draw range is set at 4, rail unit draw distance is 3500, Yard light draw distance is 1000, and all sliders to the left are maxed... Haven't really played with a lot of settings yet to test performance.

    5930K @ 4.5 Ghz
    980Ti SLI
16GB DDR4 can't remember the speed off the top of my head
    500GB Samsung 950 Pro M.2
    1TB Samsung 850 EVO SSD
    2TB WD Black

Just started playing Run8 V2 so I doubt I've found all the spots in Cali that are FPS killers, but I'm running steady locked at 100 fps.

    Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0Ghz
    ASUS GeForce GTX 1080Ti
    Motherboard : Gigabyte Z97-D3H-CF
    Corsair XMS3 1600Mhz C11 16GB (4 x 4GB)
    Samsung 850 EVO 500GB
    Power Supply : Corsair CX750 750W
    Monitor : Dell 4K

I use 80 AI trains between Colton and Seligman constantly running and have 25 fps around Barstow and SanB. Otherwise it's 55-60 fps all the time.

    Good stuff.

As I stated last year (beginning of post), the current hardware I have acquired so far is:

    Asus Z370 Hero Mobo
    I7 8600K/Noctua NH-15s Cooler
    Corsair HX850i Power Supply
    Samsung 960 Evo M.2 NVMe 512 SSD
Samsung 850 Pro Sata 500 SSD

I have been picking the components as sales come up.

Note: I am waiting on RAM and new GFX card until second quarter of the year. I will probably be using my older GTX 960 4MB card for the interim. A GTX 960 is still a good card in my opinion. I am shooting for Corsair Vengeance 32 GB DDR4-3200 MHZ for Ram. No point in nerfing the current Mobo and CPU.

Just finished my new PC build for Run8.

    Intel Core i7 8700K
    Noctua NH-D15S Cooler
    Asus Hero X Z370 Mobo
    32GB 3200mhz Corsair Ram
1 512 Samsung SSD 960 EVO M.2 NVMe for OS and base program
    1 500 Samsung SSD 850 PRO SATA
    Corsair HX850i Power Supply
    Asus 29" 4K Monitor
    OS Win 10 Home 64Bit

Note: My older comp (8 years old) HD crashed the very day I booted up the new one. Thankfully I have all Run8 files on flash drive for reinstall. I`ll be slowly saving and waiting on a new GFX card down the road. Besides Run8 runs great on the card I have with older computer. The new i7 8700K performs well on default settings without overclock. If you upgrade don`t worry about GFX card so much spend the coin on CPU and good ram. You won`t ever regret it.

Hope to be up and running again soon. Cheers

Hi Doug, to answer your question, I have a mini-itx build I built to run games! Specs: Msi a88xi ac MB,8gb ddr3 ram running at 2133mhz. (2x4), AMD A10-7800 3.9 ghz Max Turbo Apu /w intergrated graphic chip, sapphire raedeon 560 4gb card (40-60fps), without card (30fps) coolermaster hyper-212 cooler,Corsair CX750M Power. System runs great! I will be upgrading to a newer graphics card when prices go down!

My HP Omen X laptop specs....

    Intel i7-7700HQ (2.8GHz base/3.8GHz turbo)
    Nvidia GTX 1080
    Samsung 16GB DDR4 2400MHz RAM
Samsung PM961 512GB M.2 SSD (my boot OS drive)
Western Digital Black 1TB Hard Disk
    17-inch 144Hz FHD IPS display w/Nvidia G-Sync
    330-Watt power supply

The PM961 is basically Samsung's 512GB OEM version of their 960 EVO.

For a frame of reference on performance in Run 8 V2, I loaded up "BNSF Q-STOCHI-01" and looked at the frame rate from the in-cab view as you start your run in BNSF's Bakersfield yard. With every possible graphics effect and option turned on and cranked to their maximum possible values at 1080p res, I was getting between 88-92fps unlocked. Outside the cab I was getting 115fps and higher. All of it buttery smooth thanks to G-Sync and a 144Hz display.

But I usually have it capped at 60fps in-game, since a higher frame rate in such a slow moving train sim does little more than consume more power and run the GPU hotter for no real good reason. You would be hard pressed to tell the difference between 60fps and 90fps in this particular train sim.
    EMD 2-strokes rule! My all-time favorite:SD45X I also like SD40-2/SD40T-2/SD45-2/SD45T-2/DD35A/DDA40X/SD70ACe/SD80ACe
    i7-7700HQ // 16GB DDR4 // GTX 1080 // 512GB SSD+1TB HD // 17" 144Hz FHD w/G-Sync // TS2018 // TSW // T:ANE // Run 8 V2
