Prior to the GE overlay I did use RW Decal but always found it a bit cumbersome particularly trying to match each decal to its location. It was also, as stated, very performance sapping. Of course it is possible to put together a route without any sort of overlay, just using markers and comparing to the map or similar. My early RS/RW era routes were built like that. However that process is no better than how we worked in MSTS all those years ago, the overlay did make life easy.

Don't know, but if that is the case then the only option for an overlay is gambling Google don't help themselves to your money. To which I continue to assert a firm, no thank you!

When I planned to make a route for India in RailWorks, Google played his card.
