    Default Missing engine in OR only

    Hi

    when I run the CJH-Broad St to Richmond act in my MEP Plus mini route in MSTS
    the player consist shows two engines but in OR only one shows.

    I do not know which one is showing but I'm hoping someone can tell be what is wrong.

    I have attached the consist file, the two engine files and the OR log.

    I Appreciate any advise or comment.

    regards

    Daniel

    Thanks Eric

    I believe I've fixed those two issues, at least they are not showing on the log in relation to the
    engines in the consist file but still only one engine is showing.

    I have attached the latest log if you want to have a look.

    There is something wrong with this eng file.

    Hi Derek

    I have run the files though CB and RouteRiter and no issues found.

    I'll have a look and see if I can find anything.

    Cheers

    There's a number of schools of thought around this problem. First is that OR doesn't like multi-line comments; second concerns the placing of brackets in multi line comments; and third is that OR baulks at "empty" DieselSpecialEffects sections. I have gone with the first and solved it. The relevant part of my *.eng file looks like this:

    ....
    Sound ( "..\\..\\common.MEP\\1st_Gen_DMU\\DMUeng.sms" )
    )

    Engine ( #MEP-Cravens105
    Effects
    (
    DieselSpecialEffects
    (
    )
    )

    Wagon ( #MEP-Cravens105 )
    ....

    Try this. There are a number of other *.eng files in the MEP trainset with the same issue, so you might want to attend to all of them at some point.

    Hope this helps

    My Cravens 105 sets will not run on OR from at least version 1.2 onwards. They do run in version 1.1 and I do have two cars visible.
    Beer is not a matter of life or death, it is much more serious than that.

    I made the changes and it worked and will try and fix any other files I have problems with.
