Default A Jersey Caboose Hop on a Cooler Summer Day (For Once)

After a day of traveling. Nice to run a Caboose Hop on the fictional Tuckerton Museum RR (TMRX). A nice variety of cabeese with ex-CNW & BN motive power assigned to it.

Route: The Blue Comet Lines (Modified)
MP & RS: BLW/ZT, DW, SLI, MLT

Waiting 10:30AM departure from Tuckerton, NJ

    Tuckerton Station's Knockwurst Man !

Crossing the trestle at West Creek, NJ.

    Coming through Staffordville, NJ

Coming into Manahawkin. The wye track in the background was the lead that brought the Tuckerton RR onto Long Beach Island (LBI). The line was abandoned after a nor'easter on Nov. 16, 1935 washed away the TRR's causeway bridge leading to LBI.

    Arriving at Manahawkin, NJ

Crossing Route 9 on the Stafford - Barnegat, NJ border.

Arriving at Barnegat, NJ. The station in the background is the CNJ's. This was the terminus of the CNJ's Barnegat Branch.

Running through Barnegat, NJ. The CNJ ran less than 100' east of the Tuckerton RR.

Waretown Jct. The track to the left was the interchange with the CNJ.

    Enjoy !

I use to & still love caboose hops Neil. The Whippany Railroad Museum with help of the Morristown & Erie RR still runs them from May until October here in Jersey. Went last May with my son because I think we both wanted to relive a bit of our childhoods together.

I had a chance, at the Illinois Railway Museum, to ride upstairs in both directions (pulled, then pushed) along the entire length of the museums track, in a Caboose during the C&NW Tribute day in 2017. It was a freaking blast!
