    Default Only Accesses Default Locomotives

I have MSTS installed on a Windows 10 (HP 360 Pavilion) at Program Files (x86). When I run the latest version of Open Rails it loads the default locomotives only. No external locomotives will load. Open Rails is referred to the MSTS location.

Any suggestions? Thanks for the help.

Where did you install the additional locomotives?

    Read this first:

The Win 7 tutorial applies to Win 10 in almost all respects. It may not be the cause of this problem, but it will cause others.

Have you made a consist with your new engine? If not, it won't appear in the list

That is probably caused by Windows 10 Security when you tried to install the locos into a sub-folder of Program Files (x86). As in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\Trains\Trainset. There are numerous posts telling that you should NEVER install MSTS into Program Files, Program Files (x86) or the USERS folders if your OS is any Windows version from 7 to 10. Most of them recommend that you use the procedure at http://msts.steam4me.net/tutorials/i...g_msts_w7.html
    to install MSTS.

Lots of information here. It's easy to overlook something like this.
We need a prominent beginners area with this stuff. Kind of a "Start Here".
You'll be an old hat soon enough.

As the program being installed is Microsoft Train Simulator it is logical that the
recommended install instructions be in the Microsoft Train Simulator forum and it is here

    https://www.trainsim.com/vbts/showth...-or-64-bits-OS

However, I agree it should also be a sticky in the OR forum to save a lot of angst.

    Cheers
