Must admit I should revisit this, not really looked at it for several months.

Thought I would take the liberty of bumping my own thread on this.

Some big updates coming in a couple of days time, including a main line diesel, overhauled graphics, physics and gameplay. There is a series of YT videos from the developers explaining the alterations and updates:

Plus two more to come. Really looking forward to this though note as stated in one of the clips, not worth playing between now and the update as your character is going to get nuked and start from the beginning again.

Bit like Trainz, Vern. All sauce and no bottle.

It is quite far ahead of Trainz and at least hauling cargo around between the industries has some purpose.

However it is more game than sim but hope in time more gets added in.

The sight of a remote control, for loco movement had me laughing with gusto, sorry.

I watched all those 4 video's, so did not dismiss the game out of hand.

Fictional setting as well, which is always a turn off for me, Vern.

I was thinking when watching the low shots of the train traversing the track bed.

Nobody models the physics of the track moving up and down, under the weight of the loco and stock.

Like DRS it needs and editor with real world functionality.

That's very much a real tool, commonly used in North America and Australia. I've posted a link to some that look like the one used in Derail Valley.

What they need to go along with that remote, is the option to seat "BlowUp Betty". We had to install her in the cab, due to so many people calling the front office seeing a run-away, esp., during grade crossings...
