    No change.

I've attached the CAB/ENG sound files ALONG with the ENG file itself. Let's see if someone can spot WHY this still isn't working...

So, is the error message still claiming that there are missing streams?, because I have counted the streams in both sms files and the numbers are correct, 15 in the cab sms and 11 in the eng sms.

    Hi Frank and Baldwin,
Both .sms files have an extra line, at the end, with a close bracket which doesn't match any open bracket.

I suggest that line is removed in each file,

    Cheers,
    Ged

So, remove ONE close bracket at the END of each sms file and I should have sounds?

    Hi Frank,
Sorry, I can't guarantee that you'll have sounds - I've just pointed out what appears to be an error in each file!

If, after removing the last close bracket, you STILL don't hear the correct sounds, then there may be something wrong with the location of the .wav files. Only a very few are aliased to the default GP38, the remainder are not aliased and should be in the same folder as the .sms file.

    Cheers,
    Ged

Sadly still no sounds. According to TMT, it works fine in MSTS, but since MSTS won't work on my Win10 machine for some reason, I have no way to verify that. I only have ORTS and you'd think things would be pretty cross-platform like everything else has been between MSTS and ORTS.

FWIW, This isn't the ONLY sound bug I have within ORTS. Other files exhibit similar problems, i.e., no sounds; choppy sounds; etc.

Try this cab.sms, I think I may have found the problem and fixed it. If not back to the drawing board. Save the original somewhere safe before trying this one.

    Baldwin,

That seems to CLEAR up the errors in the ORTS log, but I still have ZERO internal (Cab) or external (Eng) sounds! I even, for giggles, TURNED OFF MSTSBin sound in ORTS with zero luck...My Sound levels (F5) are near 0% as well, so I'm not overloading my system.

    Hi Frank,
Have you set 'Sound Detail Level' to 5? If not, I don't think you'll hear anything as the .sms files use ScalabilityGroup 5!!

... and don't forget the 'Sound Volume' at 100%

    Cheers,
    Ged

    Hi Frank,
My apologies - ONLY the cab.sms file has the extra close bracket at the end - the .eng.sms file is OK in that respect, so please reinstate the last close bracket. Baldwin's modified cab.sms file also contains the extra close bracket. However, the correction he has made is valid - as supplied, the Vigelence alarm stream will never be heard because it has been included within the Amtrak E Chatter stream. This may cause a 'number of streams' error.

    Cheers,
    Ged
