Trying to edit an "s" file

It's been well over a decade since the last time I did any editing in my s files. Now I can't seem to find a program to open s files, what are you guys using?

Shape File Manager, available here. I think v2.5 is the latest

Youll also need a path to FFEDIT in the MSTS tools folder and you have to give sfm.htm full administrator privileges.
Ran into this a couple days ago.

Route Riter can also uncompress .s files. For some purposes it is better, but I usually use shape file manager (in the file library here).

Once uncompressed, you open the files in a text editor. I used "ConText" because it has a MSTS plug-in, but you can use anything that can handle unicode files including notepad.

Archibald will also open s files, and can do it without uncompressing them. It is part of the tk_utils set.
