And nobody finds this newsworthy?
Preliminary model looks nice, but what makes a Western a Western? Turbo scream and clag, not TSW’s strongest yet ...

Edwin "Kanawha"
The Chessie, the train that never was ... (6000 hp Baldwin-Westinghouse steam turbine electric)
The biggest issue with the Western imo is that it will be limited to the West Sommerset route (until the editor is releasesd). The model itself looks quite nice, but as you said, we can't "hear" it yet.
Overall, DTG has really been increasing the speed at which they're producing content. Since Febuary, they've released 1 German route, 1 German electric, and announced a British locomotive and another German locomotive. Along with that, they've pushed their editor into closed beta, they've added the ability to have DLC "layer" new services onto a preëxisting service mode, and they also did a major overhaul of the PZB system on the Leipzig S-Bahn route. The updated American diesel-electric physics are supposedly in beta as well.
The sim certainly has a lot more to go, but it's made major strides in the past year.
And here's a nice image of the Class 52.

Worthless without a 1960's WR route to run it on.
The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt
Same can be said for the Class 33. Still not sure why they've made two locomotives for a heritage line when they could have made more period equipment for Leeds-Manchester.
Because they are idiots. I was a fitter on the WR from the 1960's onwards, worked on the Class 52's.

What would be some good Western Region routes to showcase the 52? I'm not too familiar with British railways.
Anything set in the 1960's - 1970's buddy, departing Paddington.
A decent length run would be Paddington - Bristol or Paddington - Cardiff. Or even Paddington - Birmingham.

DTG will do as DTG will do.
At least if we had a scenario editor we could put on a railtour over the Pennines.

Sacrilege young Vern.
