    From the looks of things,

    Order C378 5241-5261 had dynamics.

Order C379 5262-5278 did not, with the exception of 5270, 71 and 72 that did (Retrofit? Special assignment?)

    Order C389 5279-5293 did not

Order C407 5294-5313 did (1978 delivery with older radiator gilles)

Order C424 5314-5323 did (1979 delivery with older radiator gilles)

Order C426 5324-5353 did (1980 delivery with older radiator gilles)

Order C431 5254-5358 (5 of 10) did not (1980 delivery with newer radiator gilles)

Order C431 5359-5363 (other 5) did (1980 delivery with newer radiator gilles)

If I recall, Gerry, the original spartan cab SD40 pack that Pete Abrams based his repaints on came with incorrect dynamic brake code in the Eng file (by mistake). The cabview lacked any controls or way to initiate dynamics, but if a CN SD40 was trailing any other dynamic equipped unit, open rails did show the CN's were generating a dynamic brake force when they should not have.

According to my Canadian Trackside Guide, seems that 5270-72, 5284, 5289, 5359, 5360, 5363 had it on delivery; 5361, 5362 did not.

I have made a SD40-2W #5301. I have adjusted the dynamic blister but the horns will require a shape manipulation.

Looking good Pete and look forward to the download of this locomotive if you plan to upload to the file library here.

Trouble is I have to write instructions to manipulate the shape via point movement, which is a dark art that I am still a chimp at.
