    Default Derailment on Horseshoe curve

    Happened about 20:40 on 7/5

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j45InTaXwzs

49 loads, 91 empties, 140 total, 8900 tons, SD70ACe/SD70M-2/SD70ACe on the point and NO HELPER

The first 11 cars right behind the power stringlined.

Unofficial cause is Precision Scheduled Railroading (what NS calls their TOPS21 operating plan)

Maybe not a good idea to have empty flats at the head end on that grade? I have always understood that it should be loads at the front with empties behind.

Another derailment at Horseshoe Curve this afternoon. Circumstances identical to previous derailment earlier this month.

Train 35A, 13,500 feet, 15 loads and 207 empties for a total of 222 cars, 8778 tons, NO HELPERS, 3 empty centerbeams right behind power, those and 3 other cars popped off due to stringlining.

Slide the bar on the bottom of the video back until the time on the top gets to around the 16:05 time.

Derailment not on camera, happened further around the curve, but you definitely hear it. You only see it as the camera rotates.

Not 3.. Its 5... 3 centerbeams, one covered hopper and one reefer with front truck off...
