Default I figure its been 3 years... time to make a new thing.

1st progress shot... started last night after dinner. Its a Norfolk Southern M-272 (shorter than M-271) Crosstie Gondola. These are converted from Seico Pulpwood Bulkhead Flatcars with angled floors.

Are these the MOW types that carried railroad ties in them? Looking good, btw.

Yes, NS has basically two kinds of crosstie gondola. The M-271 and the M-272, both of which are bulkhead flatcar "conversions". The M-272 ends up with a lower sidewall than the M-271. Note: the M-271 was practically one of my first models from 2002... and it is embarrassingly bad - model-wise.

This one is aimed more at Open Rails than MSTS as it will have more poly's than the 2002 era model I did. I may need to revisit that one after this one if done. This one may-or may/not be conducive to photol-skinning... that remains to be seen.

For grins, I threw a PHOTO on it for a test skin. It's not horrible... but I don't do photo skins anyway. Its coming along ok. It's Still not exported. I ended up spending the day fixing Windows 7 versus doing fun stuff.

So don't complain about mapping... it's not correct... only took 5 minutes.

Last IN-EDITOR shot before export and SIM testing.

    ...and first in sim shot.

Lots to do still, of course. Like, fix the textures... (including it being a M-272 not a M-271) Add bottom step... Shadows and dirt and such.)
