You are right Steve, both ETS2 and ATS are utterly compelling. With all the scenery highlights etc. it's a shame you can't actually alight from the truck in first person and walk round a bit to explore.

Nice one Steve you got the truckers bug as well.

Joined the 1.36 open beta for ATS late last night.
Vanilla only as the game was crashing with all my mods installed.

This I see could be the problem with a lot of the mods - if there is a substantial change to the game structure or area, they won't work. Hopefully SCS, unlike DTG, actually talk to the people making the various mods (at least the map ones) to try and sort it.

It happens at every major SCS update Vern. Up to the modders to update their content.
DX11 only with 1.36 and i am sure vanilla ATS looks better graphically.

Two truck mods that still work in ATS 1.36 beta. Quite a few graphics and scenery enhancement mods work as well.

Just noticed this thread...do I need a truck simulator forum? :-)
I actually had contemplated opening a trucksim.com web site at one point, but it seemed the area was already well covered.
That's entirely up to your goodself, Nels, a new thread has also been opened about the upcoming new Microsoft Flight Simulator that will be released next year, it all depends on whatever extra administrative work you will have to carry out on the forum, but, if any new Simulator areas garner enough interest, then, I'd say go for it......
Cheerz. Steve.
