    Default New plug doors

    Sorry this has taken so long. I had the first batch of cars built up and when I sent them to the testers they came back with some errors I had missed. To say I was not happy would be a understatement. The biggest issue with the cars was the cars themselves since the Frisco took delivery of the smooth side plug door cars along with the riveted cars. I decided to scrap all the Frisco cars and start new. I am happy to report the new cars came out even better than I expected. I was also interesting to learn the Frisco had many versions of the same car and each could be identified by the paint of the car.
    Boxcar red = general service, non-cushioned under frame
    Yellow = cushioned under frame
    Orange = food products, Kellogg's, Memphis TN
    Blue = food products, General Foods, Memphis TN
    Gray = paper products, James River Paper Co., Naheola AL
    Tan = beer, Schlitz Brewing Co., Memphis TN
    Pullman Green = express service for use in passenger trains
    Silver = maintenance of way service

    Some boxcar red cars did have cushioned under frames, however.

    I just need to do the write up for the Frisco cars and make the 6 FGE cars. Then I will be able to finish the Monon cars.

    Interesting. Erie Lackawana also had blue plug door boxcars built in early seventies and assigned to General Foods. They were financed by General Foods.

    It's all looking good.

    I was able to upload the FGE cars today these cars are based off a string of brand new rebuilds in Va. I made 6 total and I have included the textures for those who would like more cars. I am working on the Frisco cars fixing things I missed and weathering some of the cars.
