    Default Flat spotted wheels

A couple of videos showing how Open Rails can randomize the sound of freight cars with flat spots on their wheels.

Both videos show the same train in the same activity started from the same save point in the area approaching Canyon Diablo bridge. The first video shows 3 passes of the same train. About 2/3rds deep in the train is a block of 2 bay ACF covered hoppers. In the first video, there are 2 cars with flat wheels before the block, and 1 after. Those locations remain consistent for all 3 passes of the train.

Then I exited the activity, closed Open Rails, re-launched it from the desktop shortcut, and the restored the act from the same save point

The second video shows 2 passes of the same train now with 5 cars with flat wheels, 4 ahead of the covered hoppers and 1 behind, the last a bit more closer to the DPU. Those locations remain consistent for both passes of the train.

How exactly do you randomize the sounds? Which soundset are you using?

The user doesn't. The application randomly selects the cars automatically when the act starts. They stick to those car locations until the sim is restarted.

The sound set is standard issue stuff from Trainsimulations Open Rails grade of product. I first noticed the better sounds in the CN SD70M-2 set promotional video. I took notice of the new airbrake release trainline sounds (just before the music starts) and so I began digging around. I do believe the same sound set came with all the new routes as well.
