Why are the draw-bars and couplers so stretched?

ah good o'l goon.. nature of the beast. those features seem to close-up in strait areas. Besides, still learning values system within the .txt
Finding depends on car length during creation how the drawbars react. In RL instructions, advised not to stray from #3, which I tried that too, going both up/down in values. stranger things happen, cars inside one another, no hitch at all, couplers jumping to one side or the other, all sorts of strange abnormalities as the dev advised in the first place. I'd been advised, that some sort of overhaul be coming in a future update, must be patient. The engs, the dev seems to have a better handle on. Course custom content / creations out of his control. All the engs/rollingstock in vid be the case. I was excited with weather effects & having the plow/pilots push snow hoping others able to look past the temp shortcomings. lol.. again, goon to the rescue....

Not a complaint, merely an observation.

rgr. ya caused me to go back inside Blender a good chunk of the day. Sadly dev has both trucks / drawbars hard wired to one another. if you move a truck, the couplers do something else vis-vers. Then when making hitches, if you get the couplers positioned closer to end of car, you get a big gap between knuckles, thus, looks like no hitch has taken place, even while moving along in train. Dev stated he didn't have any scale setup example HO / N / Other scales etc. thus, at the moment hit or miss. Actually only reason I strayed from default couplers as they appear more geared towards non-North-American equip. I keep playing with the drawbars off & on when the mood strikes, hoping to hit on a happy medium, hoping eventually be a standard to come along.

Even the default couplers many of the trainlines / gladhands don't look attached to one another when in train, some also pass thru one another. Some defaults, unfortunately, also have the gap within the train. Appears, I'm not totally alone in this temp issue. Bnd to hit on something one day. Still believe the snow scene / effect looked rather nice, something different from the other sims for the most part. Rather enjoyed setting up engs with plow effects, &, after some time tracks refill with snow during a storm.

For a time seeing those spaces, stretched drawbars, non NA-coupler styles etc. had been under my skin if you will.
Vid brought that fact out once again. Well, I just had to, went back in to the design dept. just about all of yesterday, alongside what's been pointed out via dev, the spacing between equip. correlates with wheel arrangements, car lengths etc. Pretty much, no matter how we setup trucks/wheels, a somewhat large space to remain between equip, til RL preforms an overhaul of core, which, from the sounds of, be coming one day. I did however manage to do away with RLs style of coupler, to me always looked like a fishhook. I rather like the looks of RLs trainline/gladhands though, just not their placement. nor their effects, esp. going around curves, different style cars at times, train looked broken. Yesterdays refinements within both 3d-Editor & Blender. I created my own version of NA-couplers, both a V1 normal style & V2 safety version (namely tankcars for the moment), placed both a hard airline, &, anglecock alongside the drawbar. then attached somewhat of a screwy looking soft trainline to dropdown, &, on an angle in an effort to meet up with other airline. On the end of trainline, I created somewhat of a larger gladhand to take up space, &, keep attached while train moving along, esp. around curves. To me when a car is alone, the new looks little screwy (stretched). When in train, loose string, they don't look so out of place, &, scale appears better fitting. Guess for the moment will do, surely, as I learn more, one day the bug will get to me once again. esp. that damned air hose, with its compound curves, I just don't have a handle on producing that just yet. Anyways, here's several shots, you'll get the idea from this latest novel. lol... I've also included a shot of default style for ref.

I failed to mention. My drawbars / knuckle assy. are the same sizes as defaults, &, positioned same locations over trucks. Still, spacing becomes a concern. Anyways, couple more shots not able to include over 5 with prior entry.
