Thanks for the further info Bruce. I was under the impression that Australia had tons of coal to mine.
To keep electricity generation costs fairly low.
Liking the piccies of your layout.
Does the game support over head line electrification ?

There is plenty, but the tide may be turning!!
Cheers

Maryland Area Regional Commuter (MARC) runs the Penn line commuter service along the Northeast Corridor. They are getting rid of all their electric locos in favour of diesels, which will run entirely under the wires. Their reasoning was that the electrics they did have were old and/or unreliable, and the new diesels will only make a difference of a few minutes on the schedule, and have the added flexibility to be used elsewhere if needed.
We need to stop digressing, maybe![]()
Now this is fun, because it doesn't pretend to be something that it isn't.

Cool, night time on a model railway.

We do, but there is a strong leaning towards "clean energy" - to the extent that several coal-fired power stations are closing or have already closed.
Ironically, the electricity used to power the railways comes from power stations in those regions.
It certainly does, as you would have discovered by now.![]()

Same here Bruce, coal fired is out of favour. But then in the UK electrification is seen as a low carbon solution.
So no idea how they are going to generate the electricity, as nuclear is also out of favour.
Yes thank you Bruce, asked the question and then went and bought the game.
I don't think i am going to be able to build the long model railway, i wanted to.
There seems to be some sort of restriction, in regards room size.
