Thread: Where Are The Images of Consists and Rolling Stock?

Default Where Are The Images of Consists and Rolling Stock?

I think I've got this consist editor working, it loads all rolling stock and consists, as far as I know.

However, when selecting either a railroad car, locomotive, or a consist, the images do NOT show up in the editor!? I only get white and black shapes!?

Why are the proper car/locomotive images not showing in this editor?

Screenshot enclosed as an example (the bottom black/white shapes are supposed to be a consist: 3 x dash9 and 38 cars!) -

    There may be two reasons:
    - your TSRE installation is broken -> make sure that TSRE has internet access when you first open it
    - your system has no OpenGL support -> update your GPU drivers

    Thanks.

Actually there was an active internet connection when I ran TSRE executable. Some data appeared to have been downloaded after clicking on TSRE executable. Then shortly after the TSRE main window appeared. I presumed all was OK then.

I checked my system, it has full support for OpenGL to 4.5 and partial support for 4.6.

I deleted the TSRE original "installation", and tried again "re-installing" it by clicking on the TRSE executable. THIS time, more data appeared to have been downloaded before the TSRE main window finally appeared. THIS time I can now see images of rolling stock etc!

For the first attempt at "installation", I suspect insufficient data was downloaded as the initial download appeared to take a matter of seconds, while for the later "re-installation" attempt, data downloading took a few minutes (I'm on a slow internet connection here).

So it appears insufficient data download on first installation was the cause of the issue of not being able to view rolling stock etc.

But why the requirement to download extra data before TSRE can actually work properly? Could not this data be included in the main TSRE download, so that additional data need not be downloaded? TSRE can then be "installed" offline without the need for an active internet connection to download extra data!

This way you can download TSRE exe updates without downloading the whole data directories each time.
If someone have no internet access, there is zip file on the server to download and unzip the directories manually.

    Question

Can someone send me a copy or a zip folder of their TSRE5 folder because I am having zero luck getting the consist show up too!

    Hi Theforthside,
If you've downloaded TSRE5, you have everything you need!
You have to be on-line, then run the TSRE5 .exe file, give it a few seconds, then, in the same folder, you'll have everything you need

One caveat - Please do not put the TSRE .exe file into C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86). If it is in one of those folders, I've STILL got to find out where the downloaded files/folders are, if anywhere!!

    Cheers,
    Ged
