Default Timetable Activity - Midnight Doppelgangar?

I wondered if there is any way to avoid this issue? Set up schedules for the night trains on the timetable I'm working on, with the "Up" train leaving it's origin at 2350. Was rather surprised after departing and running towards the first stop to see the next signal at red, as no other trains about for several hours per my train plan. Tabbed past the red signal to find myself staring at the rear of a duplicate of my train which must have spawned in the section ahead at midnight.

I have noted some reference in the Timetable Mode instructions about trains which cross from one day into the next, but surely there must be some way to suppress the additional train spawning off any schedule that goes over midnight. Overnight trains whether passenger or freight are entirely normal on most railway systems around the world.

Well pending any solution to this issue, I have taken the simple expedient of retiming both the Up and Down Night trains to start just after midnight...
