    seems the CNW lived up to name Cheap and Nothing Wasted. Cause the locomotive were a mess when the NJT received them.
    maybe the NJT should be known as Never refusing Junk Trains.

    Well, you know.... you only need one.... they are all the same size and butt up against each other. Unless you need the one with slim staggered slices (dead trademark)

    just the one would be fine with Pete! incause I get sucked in doing more NJT. Be nice if we had those sweet GP 40 they have that CNJ blue one they did looks amazing!

    I think it was more the desperate need for power and a lack of available locomotives suitable for commuter trains. The 50 year old 3KV DC EMU cars were having serious issues due to age, and lack of available parts for 1920's technology. The then new U34CH diesels couldn't completely cover all the schedules of the EMU cars. So they leased the C&NW F7's. I guess C&NW bought back two of them and the rest stayed with NJT until retirement. They only lasted 2 years on NJT. They did get leased out to SEPTA, with an agreement to have SEPTA repair them back to a better standard than when they arrived on NJT.

    The NJT originally leased 7 units from C&NW. One of them caught fire or suffered a mechanical failure and was written off early on. Hence, there is often mention of only 6 ex C&NW F7's on NJT.

    Michelle,

    KLW did the NJT GP40 models. They might be able to serve as a base for the old CNJ blue units.

    There is more NJT coming your way. I have U34CH's, EMD E8's, 2 SW9's, I also want to do GP7's and a couple fictional GP9's in Disco Stripes with the silver and black.
