Default Oak Point to Bay Ridge

A pair of New Haven Alco FA-1 (NH class DER-2a) locomotives were photographed handling a transfer run between the NHRR Oak Point Yard in the Bronx and the PRR's Bay Ridge Yard in Brooklyn on an unrecorded date in the early 1960s. The lead unit, #0428, was one of several FA-1's sent to Alco in 1959 for a full rebuild; it returned upgraded to 1600 HP and featuring the black & red "Alpert scheme" (aka "simplified McGinnis") paint job seen here.

Activity inspired in part by content from:
----- "New Haven Division, Murray Hill to Cedar Hill" by A. Sherry

----- "New Haven Diesel Locomotives Volume 2" by R. Liljestrand & D. Sweetland

    Locos: BLW/ZT ... Consist: BLW/ZT + 3DTrains + TrainSim F/L ... Routes: CUT & MNRR
