Steam Spy showed a peak of 625 people playing this yesterday (around 200 playing TSW1). So not that good a showing for a relatively new release. By contrast, FS20 had >9000 peak players on Steam alone and that's not including the ones who bought direct from MS.

Apples to Oranges on that argument I'm afraid. Flight Simulator is a whole different animal reaching a broader market vs Trains (not as cool I guess and we are all weirdos).
Now I don't doubt that is a bad number, and trust you know more about the numbers than I do. I'm more curious what is a typical number for TSW in these categories? Reason I ask is I'm not sure where Run8 gets their numbers from (honestly I have no clue but it's the only thing that updates on their website these days) they would die to have numbers even close to that I'm sure. I'm curious how many are still running Trainz at any given time. Their forum is VERY busy. If I miss a day I have some catching up to do.
Thanks

The numbers are at best a snapshot Sean. When I looked at legacy DTG TS the same time the maximum peak was around 2K people at any one time.
Trainz is harder to quantify as there are so many different versions plus those using the game who bought direct from N3V won't register, however looking at the peak concurrent figure yesterday for TRS2019 was 265 players. TANE = 169 and TS12 = 95.
Make of those numbers what you will!

TSW2 is epic fail
Still toying with getting this if the price drops in a sale.
Do we know if DTG have fixed any of the more glaring issues at launch, like passengers on the information boards on the Bakerloo tube stations or is it still substantially the same?

Have a read of the forums and you'll see there's still problems everywhere. Apparently if you get out of the cab door on the IOW, you appear at ground level, not on the platform. You also need to crouch to get through said door, which is common sense in reality, but is not explained in-game and is likely the first time you'll have crouched while playing this game.
Passengers will still be aboard the Bakerloo line when you go through the washer at the depot.
Saving scenarios and resuming isn't reliable, still, either.
Like you Vern, I share a morbid fascination with DTG's products but I know that I'll be bored and/or infuriated if I start playing them again after a moment of weakness.
Sounds like I will leave it alone until it's under a tenner, then!
