Name of Route: Death Valley Railroad

Description: This route is based on the narrow gauge Death Valley Railroad and a portion of the standard gauge Tonopah & Tidewater Railroad. Both lines once operated in California's Mojave Desert east of Death Valley. The route contains all 20 miles of the DVRR between the Ryan borax mining camp and Death Valley Junction. It also includes 35 miles of the T&T between Death Valley Junction and Tecopa as well as a T&T branch line from Death Valley Junction to Old Ryan. The route represents the 1915 time frame before the T&T branch to Old Ryan was scrapped.
