    Default IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles

Installed this for the first time in nearly a year, i think it is.

Ordered a new joystick this afternoon, nothing flashy. Just something to fly the aircraft with, in a reasonable manner.

This is the Tank Commander part of the series.

The tank part reminds me of Team Yankee on the Amiga, years ago. Trouble is I used to be an evil barsteward and found it easier to shoot the tanks on my own side than the enemy...

Mike, for the age of this game the graphics are excellent.

What version do you have and is this stand-alone or an add-on to IL-2 Sturmovik?

This is the newer standalone series Bruce.

I haven't got the new Normandy module yet. But i own all the other parts, in their Premium editions.

I noticed on their forum, that someone has released a free mod, that converts all the default aircraft cockpits, to 4K res.

With that SE5a and landscape so detailed I 'd be quite content just stooging around doing SFA! Gorgeous aircraft models.

Fantastic shots! The only IL-2 game I ever played was the console version (Birds of Prey) and it was fantastically exciting stuff. The tank interiors remind me of the Operation Flashpoint/ArmA series.

I tried out the Battle of Britain IL-2 game on Steam but couldn't make head or tail of it, and refunded it, unfortunately.

Thanks Steve, i only re-installed on Saturday. So haven't had time to apply Re-shade, which makes the game look even nicer.

Do you mean Cliffs Of Dover Blitz on Steam buddy ? Another excellent game in the IL-2 series.

All these combat games you do need to read the manuals and have a reasonable joystick to fly.

I am a useless combat pilot, but i still get loads of fun and use out of the flight sims i own.

Only uninstalled them because my joystick went tits up in March. Luckily ATS & ETS2 are easier to steer with the mouse.

This is coming as an addon to COD Blitz quite soon.
