    I would agree with this. If your planning on running the old MSTS or even the RE utilities, it's best to stick with Nvidia

    Actually I've never bought myself a video card, in fact my whole computer is hand me downs.
    I did have to buy a case to put it in though.

    I doubt Open Rails / MSTS will ever need that kind of GPU power any time soon!

    But a reasonably up-to-date Nvida card seems to have the best backward compatibility. I know there are complaints about the "Nvidia Tax" of high prices on their cards, but they're the only GPU chip maker that's keeping up support in their drivers for whatever vintages DirectX and OpenGL/Vulkan will cover.
