Default Smoke 'em if you got 'em!

Good old fashion loud and smokey railroad fun on the IHB, coming off the CSX to eventually back west on the IHB into Blue Island Yard. And to boot, an exciting visitor working on IHB trackage!

Haha, saw a GP38 kick out a ton of blue smoke like that (not quite as much) a year or two back when they stepped on the gas. Those dash 8s taking over ore traffic up here are good for thick black clouds when throttling up, too. Always cool to see

I can remember back when CONRAIL was notorious for smoke and flames.

Looks like a P5 to me. The way to tell is that the bells are all close together, and the center bell is lower than the topmost two (unlike a K-series, which is a row of three over a row of two)

    Perfect, thanks Travis!

Hi Kevin, first time I ever took pictures here (Dolton) was with you, your son and brother, Chuck and Scott, Meansy and old man Ron (rip).
We started at Blue Island, and made our way over to Dolton. Our next get together was at Pine. Remember how we would have a row of trucks and cars, and in front a row of seats. What a crazy crowd!
I knew right away that Meansy and Scott would wind up working with the railroads.

I owe all of my modern railfanning to all of you guys. If it wasn't for old Ronnie PM'ing me here asking if I wanted to join the "MINDS", I never would have met any of you...including Kenny Plaza (also rip).

    Good memories indeed!
