We really could use a up to par MP15AC/DC set. I can get a ton of pictures if needed.

I am glad you mentioned the cab part though. I didn't scroll far enough, and I was waiting for the image to load.. I was like, hello?

    then I saw your comment.

Ok, maybe I will document my process and write up a tutorial. Thinking about it.

I really am enjoying revisiting old unfinished projects with Blender in preparation for some ORTS time. I'm able to do them some justice.
This one has been floundering since 2005 or so.

    and now...

with more details. Not alpha grates, but enough of a grate to give a good feel for the real thing... including proper shadow.

    and

Still, tons of labor to go...

YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we need tank cars like this so bad. Add the seamed ends and you have a pretty close DOT 105. Beautifully done Pete.

Actually, Michelle, I am working on a set of actual T105 propane cars from the fifties/sixties - model by Paul Charland. I'll share more in time (it's late ...) but here is one shot:

New tools can be inspiring... love the clarity on the un-textured model.

I really love those old petroleum/gas/oil cars you model chris...fine stuff. All my OR profiles are museum pieces, you're likely to see most any old rolling stock go by in an AI train! Peculiar, I know, but I do love watching that old equipment.
    Cheers, Gerry
