Now that I'm using Blender... things are fun again. Time to revisit old ignored projects.
Yes, still working on the CAB... :-P

Is this SW1500?

Ah yes, the EMD RS1325. Nice work.

Yeah, related to the reason why I wanted to create a G&W (I&M) logo.

Yup, that was initially why I stopped the 3D Canvas version. But hey, I had this in my project collection and I really need projects to learn Blender with. So far so good. While my initial reactions to Blender were somewhat negative, I just can't see myself going back to Any Amabilis software now (Be it version 7,8.9 or 10). When I started this model, I also kept notes (now lost) so I could create a 3D CANVAS tutorial document. Those plans are now scrapped (obviously) and I'm too much of a noob to try and do the same for the Blender version.
My intention is to create a somewhat better ORTS-only version, taking into account that I don't need to be so careful with total vertex count. I may never finish it or release it... but it's giving me the confidence I need to keep plugging away on a Blender version.
The original green I&M version seems to also have had the engineer cab window extension removed (which made the original seem a bit unbalanced) when it got repainted into G&W scheme.

Hey Pete, if you feel inclined to do so, would you be willing to whip up a tutorial on getting started with Blender? There doesn't seem to be one geared towards the current UI, and the way we model for MSTS/ORTS is a little unique.
It's on my list of things to do. It has been a lot of effort to get comfortable with Blender but damn... its so much more powerful than what I was used to.

That's my hope. I've put all my object building projects on ice until I can do a deep dive into Blender.
It's now been 15 months and after three attempts, I still haven't been able to actually texture something and export it...![]()
I totally understand that. I only took 2.79 seriously and then when I started getting more used to it... 2.80 came out. Changed the user interface a lot and now it makes much more sense. My comfort level increased after a few Udemy courses... Watching tutorials is not going to cut it for most people.
