    Default JPG's of rolling stock

    Hi

it looks like any rolling stock that uses DDS files cannot generate a JPG in
    Route Riter.

Does anyone know of any program that will do what RR has been doing.

    Regards

There is also a program named shapeviewerdds.zip in the library here. Works very well.

Yes. It is an upgrade for Shape Viewer. But is it compatible with the SV.exe that came with RR? Once installed you can use ConBuilder's interface with Shape Viewer to create JPGs just as before.

It works fine for me with ConBuilder, I get screenshots now that I couldn't get before because of DDS.

Are you saying that conbuilder is creating screen shots from the DDS and showing the
rolling stock as it appears in the Sim??

    Cheers

    Hi

I have spent a lot of time trying to get this working but I do not have the knowledge to make it happen.

I have downloaded the shape viewer for DDS and the readme says

For most - it should be a simple matter of simply copying [trainlib.ocx] into your current Shape Viewer directory - overwriting the original. That's it - enjoy.

I did that and ran RR but it did not work, and I got many error 91 messages.

I deleted Shape Viewer and reinstalled the latest DDS version but that did not work with RR
    I just got blank JPG's

I tried all with Digital Rail RR and that did not work.

I replaced the trainlib.ocx file with the new one, still no joy.

I tried TSRE5 but the path

TSRE5 > Select ENG/WAG > Menu select 3dView > then select Shape View: Save Image

did not work as I could not find how to how access ENG/WAG option.

(Charles, if you can help I would appreciate it, in fact if you set up a donation
link somewhere I would happily contribute.)

I am finding the lack of JPG's a real problem in Conbuilder.

Anyway, if anyone has a HowTo for getting RR or any other
method working I would appreciate it.

    Regards

    Hi Daniel,
    Just one short question

AJ and Charles covered creating screenshots using ConBuilder - why are you trying to use Route_Riter??

    Cheers,
    Ged

    Let me restate the steps.

    Open TSRE-CE
    Select Install to use.
When fully open, from the list of ENGs & WAGs select the ENG or WAG to use
NOTE: In TSRE you have to mouse click an item to select. Just using the down key to move the highlight does not select.
From the word menu select 3DView (or key Alt+3)
From the pulldown list choose Shape View: Save Image
Once the file dialog opens navigate to the folder you want to save the file in.
In the File Name box type the filename of the ENG or WAG no extension needed as program will apply ".jpg".

As to RR it used a different Sview.exe program than that provided with the Shape Viewer ZIP so I assume it needs a different one now.
