    Default The DAR Now and Then

    In 1968 Windsor Nova Scotia went through some significant changes. A new highway was being built from Halifax into the Annapolis Valley that required a causeway between Windsor and Falmouth. The highway was to be right beside the Dominion Atlantic right of way and the DAR seen the causeway as a better way of getting across the Avon River... especially with the Province paying for most of the cost.

    This is how Windsor looks in my DARv3 route:





    I'm in the process of backdating the route 20 years to 1956, when the DAR was still using steam and just introducing their first diesels:

    Nice work Paul! I've been busy myself lately doing route tweaks here and there. This project of yours is pretty neat
