Is there a way to access multiple directories

Right now I have consists/stock in three separate directories; my main Train Sim folder, payware from Train Simulations that has been recommended to be kept separate and lastly the PRR-EAST updated mini route. Can TSRE access these directories at once so I'll have access to all stock/consists to make changes or will I need to have duplicate stock/consists folders in all three directories so I'll have access to everything I need?

You can combine the files in the trains folders from the different directories into one main folder and then place a symbolic link in each location you want to run those trainsets/consists.
That way you can have one or two sets of trains and consists and just change out the link when you want.
That's what I did.

I somewhat understand what you're saying but give me more info on the symbolic link and how to set that up.

I use Link Shell Extension from here.
It lets you right click on a file/folder and then drop it where you want as a symbolic link. When you're done you just delete the link.
I have a main Trains folder that's huge. Basically unmanageable, so I have a couple smaller trains folders with what I call "the good stuff".
I can drop a link in any of several ORTS folders to use with the content there.
It's really quite intuitive and easy to use.
