Signals

How does TSRE determine what signals are available for placement? I assumed the sigcfg.dat file and I have one that looks valid. However when I open TSRE for my route and select object - other - signals, nothing is listed. I have a sigcfg.dat file with the desired signals.

I tried adding them to the ref file but then they just show up as static objects with no linking as I would have expected.

Am I missing something?

They should show up in the Signals menu. Try running OR on that route and see if the log says anything about the signal files

Select Signals and click on the second Signal entry.



If there are no Signals you might have forgotten the ShapeFiles and/or the Textures for the Signals. The shapes are in the sigcfg.dat. For example "AMGantry1.s" from USA1 Route.

I resolved the problem. Somehow the sigcfg.dat file got converted to ASCII in the process of copying it. I used RouteRiter to convert it to Unicode, the signals now show up. Thanks.
