Thread: Trainsimulations southern & ns hi-hood sets

  1. #1

Question Trainsimulations southern & ns hi-hood sets

I Have Conbuiolder and TSRE Installed and am using Open Rails.
When I Installed the Trainsimulations Southern & NS HI-Hood Sets the Engines Don't Even Appear in Conbuilder.
The Freight Cars Do but when I try to Open the File to Put them in Conbuilder I get the Following Message:
"ERROR 91 Object Variable or With Block Variable Not Set."
However In TSRE All of the Engines & Cars do Show Up.
Is It A Problem with Conbuilder or What?
    Thankyou,
    DaveKfromUP

I do not have the set, but since they are "Made for Open Rails" I suspect that they may utilize the Include file feature. ConBuilder is not compatible with ENG and WAG files that utilize Include lines. Include lines inhibit ConBuilder from finding critical data necessary for placing ENGs/WAGs in consists and for testing them, therefore they are not included in the ENG or WAG lists. Look at the Startup Errors to verify my suspicions.

And by the way if the above is true, then this set will also NOT be compatible with MSTS.

So I just Wasted a Bunch of Money on something I can't use on any Routes that aren't Open Rails!

No, not a waste. They'll give you an installation of Open Rails for absolutely nothing free. Such a deal!

Did you not read from their purchase page:
    System Requirements
    Open Rails (1.2 or higher)
356 MB of available hard disk space

And before you "waste money" again note this from their Home page:
    "ABOUT US

TrainSimulations is a provider of high-quality North American content for the Open Rails train simulation platform. Open Rails is an ever-expanding open source simulation platform which is free to use."

I Have Open Rails Installed I Figured that The Pack would be Compatible with Everything I Had Installed. I've Purchased other Downloads that Will Work with Open Rails as Well as with MSTS.

Have you opened the ENG files to see if they have Include lines? That would verify that they cannot be used in MSTS.
