it has been 4 yrs since i have had open rails installed on my laptop.

for some reason, i stumbled upon train TrainSimulations website and i saw that they offered a free route and an open rails install.

i successfully installed open rails and their scenic sub route. i have since purchased mullan pass and the ruel sub.

all i can say is that open rails is great and i am really enjoying my TrainSimulations' routes.

i look forward to purchasing MORE routes/trainsets from them. great work gents............

I really do hope this one gets made. We need a nice freely reskinnable C30-7.

But regardless, those screens are looking good!

Work is continuing on the route. Still haven't finished doing the yard at either end, but I have been working quite a lot on getting some scenery done, including the painting of the Umatilla River. At this stage, the scenery is still in "pockets", but that will change over time as we build more assets and I add more roads to the route.

Still using our older locos for the screens as the new ones haven't been built yet, but they'll serve as screenshot fodder for now

    Leaving Echo.

Approaching Rieth. Very minimal scenery done here, but you can at least see how the river is looking

Tearing through Gibbon on the main. More grasses and ground cover has been added since I took this shot this morning, as well as finished off putting in the team-track (to the left of the screenshot)

So let me get this straight. You want to fly on a magic carpet, to see the king of the potato people... and plead with him for your freedom, and you're telling me you're completely sane?

I appreciate the use of grass assets on those hills in the backdrop of Gibbon, that really makes the hills pop with a depth that you don't see often in this sim.

Also, is that a widecab dash 8 I see in the back of that power consist? I didn't know you guys made any of those in UP yellow.
But does it have field shunts?

But but but... UP says they are "Building America", but then again, that doesn't happen for another 15 years or so after the route is set

Not officially we haven't. It was something I worked on a while back that didn't see release. That being said, who knows what will happen eventually

Well hey, should that ever release as a train set I would be interested.

Finally got back into the Blue Mountains. Still a long way to go, but have managed quite a bit in the last 24 hours.
