Thread: Mileposts Question...

    It's not TSRE, Frank.

    All of what I posted was done via TSRE. It might be a poorly designed milepost or you're trying to do something it wasn't intended to do, but you really can't blame the editor.

    Speedpost data is always shape dependent, so not sure my file will help much, but here you go.

    First is for the line-pole mounted sign, second is for the vertical stick.

    Code:
    Speedpost_Set
    (
      Name ( MP-CNW-Pole )
    	Speed_Sign_Shape ( US2PerSpeedL.s 1 -0.124 1.738 -0.185 0)
    	Speed_Warning_Sign_Shape ( US2AdSpeedL.s 1 -0.006 2.046 -0.185 0)
    	Speed_Resume_Sign_Shape ( us2ResSpeed.s 1 0 0 0 0)
    	Speed_Digit_Tex ( signnumbers.ace )
    	Speed_Text_Size ( 0.25 0.25 0)
    	Milepost_Shape ( cnw-milepost.s 2  -0.4 5.6 -0.02 0  -0.4 5.6  0.02 180 )
    	Milepost_Digit_Tex ( signnumbers.ace )
    	Milepost_Text_Size ( 0.2 0.2 0.0)
    )

    Speedpost_Set
    (
      	Name ( MP-UP-Stick )
     	Speed_Sign_Shape  ( up-milepost.S  1  0 2.2 -0.06 0 )
    	Speed_Digit_Tex ( signnum.ace )
      	Speed_Text_Size ( 0.35 0 -0.35 )
    	Milepost_Shape ( up-milepost.S 2   0.0 2.2 -0.06 0  0.0 2.2  0.06 180 )
    	Milepost_Digit_Tex ( signnum.ace )
    	Milepost_Text_Size ( 0.35 0 -0.35 )
    )
    The three Milepost_Text_Size values represent height, left-right positioning, top-down positioning.

    If you want to compress the horizontal text, adjust the second value smaller.

    Where the text centers is based on the Milepost_Shape values.

    First is the shape name, second is the number of faces... that's followed by repeating sets of four values for X, Y, Z, and the facing rotation for the center of the text on each face...

    All TSRE does when placing a speedpost is repeat the static values from the Speedposts.dat file, log the position and TrItem values that it maps to, and place that into the W file and TDB/TIT files.

    The editor has zero influence on how text gets rendered in the game engine, and doesn't even try to render the text (although that would indeed be helpful for debugging purposes...).

    Thank you! I will see if I can adjust my values to make "to the hundredths" work!

    I got it to work, needs a bit of tweaking to fit completely. The numbers wind up either too big or too small.
