Swap out the pine trees for some that are little more fitting for the New England region versus the western United States pines. Added in some more birch trees and a few maples as well. Really need to figure out how to fix the terrain "paint" for the beach.

I moved the forest line further down the line, but need to tweak that a bit away from the tracks.

I apologize, I feel like I am beating a dead horse with the Sebago area, but did some more edits, path wise for hiking/walking that is visible on the maps, as well as more tree laying. I did forget the hillside in one photo which you will see being bare, except a few pines.

Anyways, extended the ROW paint works further down the line as well.

A little ballast run around and "dropping" ballast. Note, Sebago Siding can handle 15-23 cars, depending on the length.

I am actually really enjoying how quick and easy TSRE makes things be when it comes to route building. So much quicker than the old school RE from MSTS.

Hi Shawn,

I've spent a massive amount of time painting TERRTEX.

Just a couple quick pointers in case you're not aware - are you "Auto Painting" your ROW where you can paint miles and miles with a single mouse click ?

If unfamiliar - see here - you can paint ROW, road bases, and object foundations with this technique:

If you want to paint straight lines - like parking lots - crop fields - even dirt roads - you can use the "Ruler" in TSRE - it's an object you can place down that's visible in TSRE but not in ORTS - and you can "Auto Paint" the TERRTEX under the Ruler - you can leave the Ruler in place for future reference - placing down as many as you want - or delete them after you paint what's desired.

I'd recommend using at least 1024x1024 sized TERRTEX for best results.

Thanks for that! That actually makes it even more of a breeze! though some spots do deserve to be messy looking. Nothing is perfect in the railroad world. Especially during the 1980's, when most shortline railroad mainlines were covered with cinders and ash versus ballast.

Understood - just wanted to insure you knew what tools are available.

I’ve used up to three layers of textures to paint my ROW - each layer on top getting progressively more narrow.

You can do an entire route in an evening or two - where the same task would take weeks with Mosaic...

While being 1980's and got the GP7's and GP38's in Harvest Gold & Green, I won't turn down a set with Maroon & Gold, and Green & Gold F units, E units, RS units, and GP7's of the 1950's.

It's been a while since I have done any work, or updated this..

Did a little building of the Freight Main Line towards Rigby Yard. The "Wye" is going to be a real pain, considering there are no A2T190R sections, just the single track sections, so, dynamic track will have to be laid out in place instead.. which, that will be interesting with TSRE. Anyways...


The overview, dual main line track, curving off towards the Fore River, while the two lower single tracks will eventually reach into "Yard 8", Rickers Wharf, or the GT Yard, Portland Waterfront, whatever you'd like to call it. Crazy at one point this was 25mph trackage, mainline that is. With Amtrak, I'm sure it still is...



A pair of GMTX SW14 lease units, pull the local job of WMRC, towards the Sappi Mill in Westbrook. Crossing over from the NO. 2 Main, to the NO. 1 Main, Onto the "Mountain Branch", at CPF 196.

Completed Thompsons Point "Interchange" Yard, between the Portland Terminal Company and the Grand Trunk Railway.

In the background of the second photo, you'll eventually see the bridge over the Fore River, as well as the "Oil" portion of South Portland.

Not many trees in this section, mainly buildings, which eventually I need to sit down, and go through the file library of the many buildings available, in order to start the Portland area. though, I think a backdrop for most will be best. Portland is very building heavy, and I'm not sure I am even willing to deal with the frame rate drops.

Paul's Conn River Line in Bellows Falls, VT hits the framerates. Yet.. I am able to run the latest Mullan Pass. go figure.
