    Hi Folks,

Absolutely superb job - love the weathering and the fact you chose four packs - as I hate seeing a string of clones that are identical - four packs make mixing it up easy...

    Regards,

Thanks guys, the way the .DDS file and .Wag files are set up from NAVS is for 4 individual cars so anything I will do will always be in packs of 4.

Quickly googling shows Bethlehem Mines hopper on older model railroad cars from earlier in the twentieth century. Did their private car ownership make it into the sixties?

Certainly their use of rail did . . . not only coal from Pennsylvania, but stone from Millville Quarry on the B&O south of Harpers Ferry and Bittenger on the WM and surely elsewhere too.

Chris that's what I had found as well. The WM specifically purchased the grey 100T hoppers in the early 1970s to move stone from the Bethlehem quarry in Hanover, PA to Sparrows Point so I would suspect that any Bethlehem owned cars would have been long gone by that time. Ive done the "fictional" Bethlehem cars with the Horseshoe route in mind. Bethlehem Mines and later BethEnergy had a large presence in the Johnstown area in to the early 1990s, but they would certainly look right on some of the other available routes as well.
