    Well yes ...and no.

Not exactly "WRONG" but it just really limits appreciation of all the work put into the route?

Many folk think that driving from the Cab or flying from the Cockpit are what Train and Flight Simulators are for. Of course they all support that. However what puts MSTS and OR on a slightly broader level than the original BVE is that the route designers have created virtual worlds through which we can drive. Model makers have improved their skills, painters and re-skinners have improved theirs too. The full appreciation of the Simulators as a whole cannot be appreciated from the one viewpoint and both MSTS and OR have many excellent Cams that can be used to full effect. In OR those cams even have fantastic infinitely variable FOV on all cams. Even the Cab cab cam. What the vidoes show looks good but our view of the work is restricted by the use of one fixed cam?

Hello Rory! Thank you for your post.

Europe does have beautiful scenery, be it the Alps or one of the many thousands of lakes.

We haven't used MSTS RE for many many years, and I strongly encourage everyone to take a look at Goku's Route Builder called TSRE5.

The newest versions can be found under the following link: http://koniec.org/tsre5/data/?C=M;O=D
A manual can be found under the following link: http://koniec.org/tsre5/

You are required to read, that is the main point I should want everyone to take with them when they explore TSRE5. It is possible to learn! Even if it is frightening at first

    Cheers!

Hello Geoff, thank you for your post!

Your point is well taken! Though from a time management perspective, creating videos is a time consuming act. We're talking several hours of Recording, Uploading, Downloading, Editing, Uploading not to mention the time Youtube needs to prepare a video.

Thus recording from different angles is surely possible and perhaps, in time, we will showcase some scenery videos as well

    Cheers!
