Default New activity - Amtrak Empire Builder for Trainsimulations BNSF Scenic Sub

I have uploaded an activity for the Trainsimulations BNSF Scenic Sub starter route. This is the Eastbound Amtrak Empire Builder from Everett to Wenatchee. It requires some freeware downloads for the Amtrak train, everything else is what is included in the route. The file is named BNSF_scenic_atk8.zip and should be available in the library shortly.

Description: Your job this evening is to take the Eastbound Empire Builder from Everett to Wenatchee where you will turn the train over to another crew. Westbound freight traffic is heavy so you will have several meets on the way which will keep you on your toes. Try to get your train to Wenatchee at the scheduled arrival time of 9:16pm. Your train will make a stop at Skykomish - the real Amtrak Empire Builder stops at Leavenworth but there is no station at Leavenworth in this route so Skykomish was substituted for it.

Schedule is based on the current Amtrak Empire Builder schedule except for Skykomish being substituted for Leavenworth and station times adjusted to fit the route.

It appears there are a couple of issues with the activity as released.

Apparently I mistakenly included some cars included with the TrainSimulations Green River route. If you have that route then the activity should work as is. If not then do the following:

    1. Download and install amtkbag3.zip from the file library.

    2. Substitute the attached consist below for the one installed with the activity (you will need to unzip it to the trains/consists directory)

    Amtrak EB Seattle section.zip

I will generate an updated activity and upload it shortly.

    Hello Jonathan,

Thought to let you and others who are interested to see the log file that I couldn't run your activity on the route of Trainsimulations BNSF Scenic Sub starter route. Hopefully someone can tell me what is the actual problem with this.

    Thank you,

    John

John, it runs okay for me. Do you have the Starter route or the Scenic route? The original free TS route was the Starter , then it was updated to the Scenic, which is the version this act is for.

Yes this activity was developed for version 2.0 of the Scenic Sub, the version currently available from TrainSimulations. I suspect that John has an older version based on the invalid path errors in the log above.

Note that in my update I forgot to add the filename of the baggage car. The needed download is "amtbag3.zip" which is in the file library.

Guess that the best thing is for me to delete your activity. Yes I do have the route of BNSF Starter route and all other Trainsimulations routes except BNSF Scenic 2. I believe that I have that somewhere on one of my USB Flash Drive that I have in a box more than 20 flash drives.

    Thank you,

    John

It would seem that John's is a different one in that in his OR log it just states "Starter Route" instead of BNSF Scenic.

Yes he has the original free one from TS. The current one (BNSF Scenic) appeared on the OpenRails website a little before Christmas I seem to remember. Great route though, I'm really enjoying running the activities on it.

Yup, me as well! Big improvement over the original.
