    Default Tom Lindsey/Frank Burns

    Gentlemen and Ladies,
It is with a heavy heart I must announce the loss of our fellow simmer Tom Lindsey, better known as Frank Burns. Tom was active in the Train Sim forums from early on, and created the forum/repository The Mophouse. He passed away at his home in Newton, KS, Thursday, March 18th, 2021, due to cancer. His final wishes are currently being tended to.

Tom was a man after my own heart. He grew up in Wichita, KS, living next to the Frisco railroad tracks. He has admitted that it was a spark in his enjoyment of trains. He graduated from East High, class of 1973. Tom had a variety of talents that he leant to his professional life, and his hobbies included riding his Honda Goldwing Windjammer motorcycle, (more than a few Cassoday runs), as well as a Suzuki GS650L; fishing, and camping. He had many fond memories of fishing around Climax, KS, which the Santa Fe ran through. He was also an active Ham Radio operator, License Class Technician, using the call sign KD0BLS.

Tom's last employment was as a van driver, contracting for BNSF, and we're not sure if he spent more time watching the trains or driving to and from them. As a simmer, Tom release a large number of repaints, hosted files, made activities, and made large contributions to the hobby. We are greater for having him in our ranks.

Wow I'm sorry to hear that. The Mophouse was an early resource that I used quite a bit and lead to my inspirations of RTS. Was a main source for organizing some early MSTS MP runs I believe with Lee Kinnamon. My memory can't remember the line exactly, but it was something that The Mophouse was a huge part of. CSX around New Orleans I believe. Some good memories.

    Thanks

    Sean

Godspeed mate. I will miss your salty comebacks, no doubt. One of the first members to assist me when I came onboard.
    Peace be with you.
