    Default Question about OR locomotives

    Hi all,

I have a general question about installing open rails locomotives. For example I've just downloaded "OpenRails L&N SD40 1970s Pack 1". The file contains an openrails subfolder containing .ENG files. Do I copy these files to the routes openrails directory?

In short, what do I have to do to install this file properly for use under OR.

The "OpenRails" folder stays right where it is. OR will use the eng file contained in preference to the msts style file in the parent folder...MSTS will ignore the folder. Tyler has set up a separate engine file to take advantage of Open Rails physics and other advancements. The readme will give you some information about sound that you may find interesting.

RE: the routes OpenRails folder: is strictly for files that are found in the route folder...trk files, sigcfg.dat files and so forth.
OpenRails folders can be used in a variety of other place to modify MSTS files to accommodate OR code...for instance within the Activities folder...Please search OR manual using term "OpenRails folder" and you'll see more.
    Cheers, Gerry
